We welcome candidates who can contribute to the excellence of our academic community.DescriptionKEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages internal and external communications efforts for a school or division, and provides communications perspective on initiatives and strategic planning. Produces executive communications and reports for divisional leadership. Directs the development of marketing, promotional, and communications strategies and policies to build awareness of division/school initiatives and priorities, and to serve various communications needs. Provides leadership on communications projects, ensuring that communications reflect divisional commitments, strategic priorities, and quality requirements. May oversee the division/school's website, as well as social media presence and activity. Evaluates the effectiveness of communication strategies across platforms and audiences. Oversees relationships with vendors and Emory service providers. May serve as spokesperson for the division/school, as appropriate. May manage a budget and staff. Performs related responsibilities as required.PREFERRED: Experience in higher education or academic medical center settingsFamiliarity with donor engagement and advancement eventsKnowledge of neuroscience, brain health, or related fieldsExperience with digital engagement tools and event platformsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, art or other related field. Six years of experience in the development of marketing and informational materials, writing/research, project management and/or information technology. Additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Knowledge of publishing and other related software. Demonstrated creativity in the design of marketing, public relations or educational programs and communications materials.NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA.
