Software Engineer

As part of the OpenSpace development team, the Software Engineer will be a valuable contributor to a web-based full-stack Agile Development Team with responsibilities that include:

• Develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for enhancements and new products.
• Develops unit-level tests that ensure work product is of high quality
• Authors software documentation for both internal and customer use
• Reviews peer contributions as part of code reviews

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of relevant programming experience
• Software development in Java and realtime and/or multi-threaded systems
• General knowledge with Docker, and Kubernetes a plus
• Experience with RESTful services
• Experience with websockets a plus
• Experience with web-based technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Build pipeline automation and packaging using tools such as Bamboo
• General cloud knowledge with AWS or Azure
• Familiarity with working in a SAFe Agile environment using Atlassian suite of tools such as Jira and Confluence or other similar collaboration tools

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Expert software development experience in Java, C, and C++
• Experience with multi-threaded or realtime applications
• Experience with QuestDB
• Experience developing unit tests with tools such as SonarQube or other code coverage tools
• Expert knowledge with Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher
• Secure software development experience and implementation of best practices
• Experience with Satellite Command and Control systems
