Position Overview Title: Physician, Internal Medicine Location: BMH Bronson Methodist Hospital – John Street, Kalamazoo, MI. Key Responsibilities Diagnose illnesses, prescribe, and administer treatment for patients with disease or illness. Examine patients, obtain medical histories, and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests. Provide counseling on preventive healthcare, hygiene, and diet. Interview, examine, and treat clinical patients to meet their medical needs. Determine referrals and urgency of follow‑up appointments. Prescribe medications and order studies, tests, and ancillary services. Document all services in the patient medical record. Review long‑term cases requiring ongoing medical attention. Consult with Medical Director and other professionals as needed. Participate in process improvement, management, continuing education, and patient care programs. Oversee mid‑level medical staff and nursing clinical staff. Assist in resolving complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients. Qualifications Board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine. Current, unrestricted state medical license in Michigan (MD/DO). DEA licensure and DPS Certificate of Registration. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to compassionate, quality patient‑centered care. Knowledge of professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques. Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment. Schedule Full‑time, 40 hours per week; Monday–Friday, 8a.m.–5p.m.; minimal on‑call duties.
