Supervisor: Drumhead Department

Summary/Objective: Oversee and organize production of the Drumhead department to meet or exceed production goals while maintaining quality standards at the direction of the Manager.

Essential Functions: Implement production strategies and supervise Leads and employees in the Drumhead department. Enforce all company policies and procedures regarding production, safety, and code of conduct compliance. Pre-screen new hires. Continuously train Leads and employees. Disseminate information to employees and leads on behalf of the Manager and company. Communicate with Supervisors and Managers regarding production and employee issues.

Competencies:

1. The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong attention to detail.

2. Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

3. Preferred someone with knowledge or experience in Lean Manufacturing, and problem-solving skills.

4. Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

5. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (Read & Write) preferred.

6. The incumbent must be self-starter and well organized, thoroughly, and flexible.

Supervisory Responsibility: Supervise employees assigned to the Drumhead department.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

1. Stand for long periods of the day.

2. Walking for most of the shift on hard floors.

3. Type at keyboard for certain periods.

4. Reaching. (extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction)

5. Bend, twist and turn.

6. Repetitive motion. (sustained movements/motions of the wrists, hand and/or fingers)

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 5:55 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (with 35 minutes lunch period)

Required Education and Experience: High school diploma preferred and related 3-5 years’ experience in Manufacturing. The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail. Computer experience and working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (Read & Write) preferred. Incumbent will be required to complete courses and obtain certificate on Fundamentals of Lean

Manufacturing. Must have strong supervisory skills or must be willing to attend training within the first calendar year.
