Advertising Operations Media Coordinator Intern, WRAL-TV Sales

20 hour/week internship, August 24, 2026 to December 11, 2026. All hours must be completed in office in Raleigh (2619 Western Blvd., Raleigh, NC 27606). Candidate must have reliable transportation and may be asked to travel to various locations as part of this position. Job Description WRAL-TV Sales Department is the revenue engine of the TV stations, operating an NBC affiliate, a Fox affiliate, and a 24/7 news station along with a full suite of digital products. Our mission is to help local businesses grow and get their message out to our audiences. This role is intended to support the sales team with backend ad operations for both linear and digital platforms, with the opportunity to learn key sales functions. What You'll Do Support linear ad operations including spot placement via Wide Orbit, spot clearing, log reconciliation, and copy management Place and manage digital ads across DSPs such as The Trade Desk, Nativo, GAM, and Site Impact Assist the sales team with backend ad operations across linear and digital products Gain exposure to sales functions within a multi-platform media organization Perform other duties as required or assigned, provided they are reasonably related to the responsibilities outlined in this job description Requirements Strong attention to detail Excellent communication skills Systems thinker with the ability to manage multiple workflows Preferred Majors Marketing Advertising/Media Studies Business Administration Data Analytics Communications What You'll Gain Real media industry experience, hands‑on ad tech and platform experience, practical skills in ad campaign execution, exposure to data and analytical thinking, and opportunities for cross‑department collaboration. Compensation & Benefits Pay: $16 per hour. Transportation stipend: $80 per month. Internship includes 40 hours of leadership training with Leadership Triangle and a cohort-only retreat in Rocky Mount, NC. The Emerging Leaders Program is open to rising Juniors and Seniors at North Carolina Central University and Shaw University. This internship is part of a cohort-based program.
