Registered Nurse II - RN Endoscopy (PRN)

Job Summary Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal‑directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. Entity / Organization Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) – Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Hours & Schedule 12 hour shifts. 24‑48 hours per 6‑week schedule, depending on tier chosen. Minimum Training and Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s degree preferred) Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations Registered Nurse license from South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or AHA recognized equivalent, or American Red Cross CPR/AED) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, withstanding continuous effort Ability to climb stairs, work indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes Ability to work from elevated areas, confined spaces, kneel, bend at waist, twist waist, squat, perform pinching operations, gross motor hand movements, firm grasp, fine manipulation, reach overhead, repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows/shoulders, use both legs and lower extremities for balance, reach in all directions Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, lift objects up to 50 lbs from floor or 36" to overhead, exert up to 50 lbs of force Vision: 20/40 corrected in one or both eyes; color discrimination; depth perception; peripheral vision Hearing: adequate with correction Ability to handle stressful situations and rotating shifts; overtime and latex safe environment as necessary Equal Opportunity Employer Statement The Medical University of South Carolina is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
