Manufacturing Supervisor

Overview

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for managing daily Valve Assembly operations to ensure safe, efficient, and quality production output in accordance with customer requirements and production targets. The role leads production operators, manages manpower allocation, drives process compliance, and ensures continuous improvement initiatives are implemented to achieve operational excellence.

Responsibilties:

  • Supervise daily valve assembly production operations to achieve production output, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
  • Lead and manage production operators, team leaders, and technicians to ensure effective execution of manufacturing activities.
  • Plan and allocate manpower according to production requirements, workload, and shift schedules.
  • Monitor production performance and ensure production plans are achieved according to schedule.
  • Ensure assembly processes are performed according to work instructions, specifications, control plans, and quality standards.
  • Monitor production line performance including output, cycle time, downtime, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve production issues affecting safety, quality, delivery, or productivity.
  • Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Planning, Maintenance, and Materials teams to resolve operational issues.
  • Ensure proper handling and availability of materials, tools, fixtures, and equipment required for valve assembly operations.
  • Monitor product quality and ensure defects, rework, and scrap are minimized.
  • Support investigation and corrective actions for production-related quality issues.
  • Ensure operators follow standard operating procedures (SOP), safety requirements, and company policies.
  • Conduct daily production meetings, shift handovers, and communicate production priorities to the team.
  • Train, coach, and develop operators to improve technical skills, productivity, and work quality.
  • Perform employee performance monitoring and provide feedback on attendance, discipline, and work performance.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), process changes, and production improvement activities.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, waste reduction, and process optimization.
  • Monitor equipment and tooling conditions and coordinate with Maintenance for preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure proper documentation and production records are completed accurately.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits as required.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Manufacturing Manager.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
  • Technical certification or manufacturing-related qualification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations .
  • Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory experience managing production teams .
  • Experience in assembly operations, preferably precision assembly or valve-related manufacturing.
  • Experience managing shift-based production operations is preferred.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments is an advantage.
  • trong understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly operations, and production control.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, specifications, and process documents.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • Experience with production systems, MES, ERP, or manufacturing reporting systems is preferred.
  • Understanding of quality systems and manufacturing compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and develop production teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Good communication and coordination skills across multiple functions.
  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong ownership of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery performance.
  • Willingness to support shift operations, overtime, and production ramp activities when required.
