Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room by selecting and opening sterile instruments
• Assembles, adjusts, and checks non-sterile equipment
• Utilizes sterilizers, lights, suction machines, electrosurgical units, and diagnostic equipment during surgery
• Assists with sponge, needle, and other supply counts to track materials used in surgery
• Provides visualization of the operative site
• Utilizes appropriate techniques to assist with hemostasis, including but not limited to clamping, cautery, ligation, clips, hemostatic agents, applying tourniquets, and vessel loops
• Performs and assists with closure of surgical incisions, applies wound vacs, placement of drains, and dressings
• Assists with surgery scheduling
• Follows guidelines of HIPAA in maintaining patient confidentiality

Requirements & Skills

• Certification(s): Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required; BLS preferred
• Team-oriented and positively contribute to exceptional customer service
• Excellent organizational & communication skills
• Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment and multitask

Employment Details

• Full-time or part-time
• Monday – Friday and must be willing to take call occasionally
