Shop MechanicThomann Asphalt is a family-owned, full-service asphalt paving company that specializes in parking lot maintenance, including paving, patching, seal coating, crack sealing, and drain work, as well as site work with a full complement of grading, excavating, and utility installation services. We have an immediate opening for a skilled and motivated shop mechanic who will be responsible for ensuring the functionality and reliability of vehicles and equipment through performing consistent inspections and repairs. The pay range is $28.00-$36.00 per hour.Essential FunctionsConduct regular maintenance inspections on vehicles and equipmentMonitor repair parts and spare parts inventoryInspect machines, engines, transmissions, and related components, and run diagnostic tests to identify functional issues.Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them on timeAssemble mechanical components and perform repairs when neededWork EnvironmentThis job operates primarily in an indoor work environment, but occasional work outdoors may be required.Physical DemandsThe employee is frequently required to stand and occasionally climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to push, pull, move and lift to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to climb and descend a flight of stairs as needed.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Extended hours, nights and weekend work may be necessary based on business needs.
