Cardiac Cath Lab Technician

Perm candidates of any other providence facility (non-Swedish) are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. All Swedish facilities honor active compact license. 2 year experience required. Unit does not accept first time travelers. Call required: Yes, typically 6 evenings and one weekend per 6 weeks. Weekend shifts per contract: typically one weekend per 6 week on standby. Must respond within 30 minutes of call back.

Skills:

• Work settings: Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab (required)
• Special procedures: Preferred Cardiac Cath Lab Procedures - Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Pulmonary Artery (PA) line insertion, Transcatheter Aortic Valve implantation/Replacement (TAVI/TAVR), Watchman
• Equipment and devices: Required Fluoroscopy, Siemens
• Procedural responsibilities: Required Accurate monitoring, Equipment set up, Perform EKG lead placement, Prep access site, Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, Room circulator, Scrub- maintain sterile field, Vascular Closure Systems (Perclose, StarClose)
• Professional knowledge and skills: Required Isolation Precautions - Preferred Use of Rapid Response team

Scrubs: Provided

All units that have on-call requirements require a 30-minute response time. It is outlined as a standard requirement in the unit description. All Swedish facilities with units that necessitate on-call coverage have a response time of 30 min from when the traveler is called in.
