About the Role

Family Legacy is looking for a part-time intern to support our operations and financial planning teams. This is hands-on work at a client-first advisory firm; you'll help keep our client data accurate and get direct exposure to how financial planning actually happens through structured shadowing opportunities.

This role is well-suited to a senior level student pursuing a degree or CFP® Board–registered coursework in financial planning, finance, or a related field. This internship presents an opportunity to transform to a full-time Member Experience Advisor after graduation of ideally Spring 2027, for the right candidate Summer 2027. By graduation, you'll know our systems and processes so you can hit the ground running.

Family Legacy requires a signed confidentiality agreement and background check prior to start. This role does not involve providing investment advice or recommendations to clients.

Schedule: Part-Time, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, Ideally Three Days/Week during Spring 2027 semester.

What You'll Do

Operations support

• Audit household records in our CRM (Wealthbox) for accuracy — titles, member relationships, and contact information
• Scan and organize documents following our filing standards
• Reach out to tax clients

Financial planning exposure

• Shadow client meetings (with client consent), starting with meeting prep and advisor debriefs and progressing toward in-meeting observation as appropriate
• Participate in post-meeting discussions with advisors to understand the "why" behind planning decisions
• Rotate across multiple advisors to see different planning approaches and client situations

Front desk

• Greet clients and visitors professionally
• Provide backup phone coverage as needed (not primary phone duty)

What We're Looking For

• Currently pursuing a degree in financial planning, finance, accounting, or a related field (CFP Board–registered program a plus)
• Senior level student who will be seeking full time employment by Summer 2027
• Comfortable with detail-oriented, checklist-driven work
• Strong written communication and professionalism in a client-facing environment
• Trustworthy with confidential client financial information
• Part-time availability
• No prior industry experience required; training provided
