Education/Experience/Training/Certifications At minimum, some high school level education (over 16+ years of age) CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification and Emergency Oxygen from Red Cross Obtains YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent at first certification course offered by YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit after hire. $300 Signing Bonus! Job Duties & Responsibilities Shadows and prepares swimming lessons according the YMCA guidelines Builds authentic relationships with students and parents Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules as appropriate Maintains records as required and attends staff meetings and trainings Performs other assigned duties as directed by Supervisor Abilities & Skills Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques. Ability to lift equipment, and to lift a small to average size child.
