Major Gifts Officer

About the Role We are searching for a dynamic and experienced Permanent Major Gifts Officer to drive fundraising efforts, develop a portfolio, and create effective donor strategies. This role offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact our mission. Responsibilities Develop and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors, creating individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans. Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive major gifts program. Conduct prospect research and qualification. Develop and implement donor strategies to secure major gifts. Build strong relationships with board members, leadership, and donors as the primary liaison. Represent the organization at events and meetings. Prepare proposals, presentations, and reports to secure major gifts. Track and report on major gifts activity and progress toward goals. Work closely with finance to ensure accurate tracking and reporting. Stay current on trends and best practices in major gifts fundraising and the arts industry. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Nonprofit Management, or related field. Minimum 5 years in major gifts fundraising, preferably in the arts industry. Proven track record of securing major gifts and meeting goals. Strong understanding of major gifts principles. Ability to develop and implement effective donor strategies. Excellent relationship‑building skills. Strong communication skills; present information and respond to questions. Proficiency in fundraising software and databases.
