Job Summary Supervises overall preparation of meals and Dietary Services compliant with Residents’ Diet Orders, menu, specifications, Company Policies, Dietary/Sanitary Regulations under supervision of Dietary Manager; ensures high standards of quality for food preparation and service; ensures accuracy of grocery orders, inventory records and adequate inventory; must communicate courteously and respectfully with Employees, Residents and others; must maintain high degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene. Qualifications Prefer Supervisory experience in large-scale cooking and food service position; must be able to obtain and maintain any required certificates; must be in good physical condition, be able to read and write to accomplish job duties; must pass drug screens and have a satisfactory Criminal History Background Check. Equipment Used Telephone, can opener, slicer, knives, mixer, stove, oven, deep fryer, coffee urns, steamer, pots, pans, blender and other kitchen equipment and appliances. Work Environment Works in well-lighted, well-ventilated kitchen area on tile and/or concrete floor. Duties and Responsibilities Promptly reports any suspected Resident abuse to Administrator Maintains strict confidentiality of Residents’ and Employees’ Protected Health Information (PHI) as required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) as amended by the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act Immediately reports to Nurse any unattended Resident leaving facility and assists as needed Complies with and respects Residents’ rights; knocks before entering Residents’ rooms Reports to Dietary Manager all complaints from outside Dietary Department that cannot be resolved Benefits Excellent Benefits: Bedford Care Centers offer a comprehensive benefits package to our full time employees.
