Pay Range: $32.00 - $34.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
First Student is now hiring a Diesel Technician for our shop serving Tamworth, Inter-Lakes, Moultonborough, and Sandwich School Districts in Belmont, NH!

$32.00 - $34.00 per hour (NOT flat rate)

About the Diesel Technician Position
As a Diesel Technician with First Student, you will help maintain and repair school buses to ensure safety and reliability.
Diesel Technician Responsibilities
Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for our passengers
Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle maintenance
Repair and inspect brake systems
Perform engine tune-ups, suspension repairs, drivetrain repairs, transmission repairs, clutch repairs, and other maintenance activities
Perform preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
Complete work orders accurately and maintain service documentation
Assist with mobile emergency repair services when needed
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Follow all company safety and maintenance procedures
Diesel Technician Qualifications
Minimum of 3 + years of diesel, fleet, bus, truck, heavy equipment, or automotive maintenance and repair experience , or equivalent technical school education and experience
Strong vehicle diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Valid driver's license required
CDL Class B or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment (company-paid training provided)
Possession of a mechanic's tool set required
Willingness to participate in the ASE certification program (training, testing, and pay increases provided)
Strong computer and documentation skills
School bus, fleet, transit, municipal, or heavy truck experience preferred
Additional Requirements
This position is considered safety-sensitive and is subject to DOT drug testing.
DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
