Primary duties will include minor electrical work, mechanical repairs, and other duties relating to maintenance needs. Position Responsibilities: Clinical / Technical Skills (40% of performance review) Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and systems as required. Performs preventative maintenance duties to all physical structures of the facility and complies with all building safety codes. This is to include facility equipment and associated controls. Assists in maintaining and repairing HVAC controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas. Performs urgent corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems as required. Perform upkeep of the facility, which could include but not limited to, painting, wall repair, on call after hours, unclogging toilets and sinks, etc. As required, assists in maintaining electrical wiring and emergency generator systems. Inspects and tests equipment/systems. Assists in replacing, installing, repairing and testing electrical circuits, IT equipment, equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required. Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system. Performs manual duties as requested (i.e., moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs removing trash and scrap material). Reads blueprints, interprets instructions and prepares specifications. Knowledgeable of safety measures/devices used on behavioral health units. A working knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems. A thorough knowledge of how to use and maintain plant tools and equipment. Knowledge and observance of safety precautions. Ensures proper documentation in all position activities, following federal and state guidelines. CPR and hospital-selected de-escalation technique certification. Preferred: Some college or vocational program Maintains education and development appropriate for position. May substitute experience for required education. Experience Required: One year building maintenance and/or general labor on construction projects or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: HVAC certification and/or a minimum of two years experience in HVAC repair and maintenance, and a minimum of one (1) year experience in a behavioral healthcare setting.
