CT Technologist

A CT Tech, or Computed Tomography Technologist, performs CT scans, ensuring the highest level of customer service and image quality while managing the entire patient procedure. This involves preparing patients, which includes starting IVs for contrast administration and using the power injector, as well as retrieving necessary patient history and orders. The Technologist effectively communicates with patients, their families, physicians, and the radiologist, providing crucial signs and symptoms pertinent to the exam. They are responsible for coordinating patient flow, ensuring all daily exams are completed, maintaining equipment and departmental work areas, and upholding the principle of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) to minimize radiation dose. The role requires the completion of all documentation and contribution to after-hour coverage through on-call rotations, all while promoting quality improvement initiatives. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
