Job Summary:

The Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist is responsible for developing and implementing precise radiation treatment plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes. They collaborate with medical professionals to calculate dosages, prepare treatment devices, and support intracavity procedures within a clinical oncology setting.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Develop treatment techniques that accurately deliver prescribed radiation doses.
  
  
• 
  Obtain and supervise the collection of patient data, including CT scans, contours, and localization files.
  
  
• 
  Coordinate simulations with tumor localization procedures to ensure treatment accuracy.
  
  
• 
  Enter and verify radiation dosage calculations in patient treatment charts.
  
  
• 
  Supervise therapists during the implementation of treatment plans and assist in planning beam-modifying devices.
  
  
• 
  Support brachytherapy procedures by obtaining localization films, calculating isodose distributions, and preparing sources for loading.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a high school diploma or equivalent with at least three years of dosimetry experience under supervision or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  
  
• 
  Credentialed as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist by the American Association of Medical Dosimetry.
  
  
• 
  Possess at least five years of dosimetry experience in a clinical setting.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency with Eclipse Treatment Planning, Mosaiq, Radformation, RadCalc, and Mobius.
  
  
• 
  Show ability to perform radiation room surveys and support radiation safety procedures.
