Pay: $24/hour base, with the ability to earn up to $27/hour
Type: Temporary / Campaign position — full-time and part-time shifts, including evenings and weekends
Start Date: 10/01/2026
Bilingual Preferred: English/Spanish
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
This program focuses on increasing voter participation and engagement in Edinburg and the Rio Grande Valley, and on making sure every voice in the community is heard. At Solidarity Strategies, we are committed to electing Democrats and driving progressive change through grassroots organizing and one-on-one conversations with voters.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're hiring passionate, outgoing, and reliable canvassers to join our field team in Edinburg, TX. As a canvasser, you will talk with voters at their doors, share information about the campaign, and record conversations using tools like MiniVAN.
This is an entry-level position, and no prior experience is required. Paid training is provided. Flexible schedules and multiple shifts are available.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Go door-to-door in assigned neighborhoods
Talk with voters and share information about the campaign and the election
Accurately collect and record data using MiniVAN
Submit daily reports and check in with your supervisor
Represent the campaign and its values professionally and respectfully
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Field Director or Field Organizers
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with new people
Friendly, reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Comfortable working outdoors in Texas heat and other weather, and walking for extended periods
Tech-savvy and able to use a smartphone for data entry and navigation
Problem-solving skills for efficient route planning
Prior canvassing, campaign, nonprofit, or community outreach experience is helpful but not required
REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 years or older
Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Must have a smartphone with mobile data and access to apps
Access to reliable transportation
Flexible availability: 12+ hours per week
Must complete paid program training before beginning field work
