- Review property management agreements, construction contracts, leases, loan documents, joint venture agreements, and other contracts to identify and evaluate insurance requirements and risk transfer provisions.
- Manage insurance compliance processes, ensuring third-party adherence to contractual insurance requirements.
- Assist in negotiating insurance contractual requirements with lenders, contractors, investors, property managers, tenants, and other third parties.
- Partner with development, construction, and operations teams to assess project-level risks and loss prevention measures, and ensure compliance with insurance and bonding requirements.
- Support loss prevention and safety initiatives across business operations.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on risk mitigation, loss prevention, safety best practices, and insurance requirements.
- Coordinate timely reporting of all property, casualty, and builders risk claims; support claims management and litigation matters from first notice through closure or settlement, working with internal and external stakeholders, adjusters, TPAs, counsel, and brokers as needed.
- Coordinate with Legal on claims, litigation, and corporate legal structure matters.
- Maintain claims-related documentation and assist with information requests throughout the claims process.
- Develop and propose recommendations for new or improved strategies to reduce total cost of risk and mitigate company risk exposures; present recommendations to leadership as appropriate.
- Identify emerging risks and help implement policies, procedures, and controls to strengthen the organization's overall risk management strategy.
