Accounts Payable Manager

DescriptionKforce has a client in Woodbridge, VA that is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager.Summary:We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead and oversee the daily operations of the Accounts Payable function. This position is responsible for supervising a team of four Accounts Payable Technicians, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, vendor inquiries, and related financial transactions. This role is highly focused on team oversight, workflow management, quality control, issue resolution, and process improvement rather than direct invoice processing. The department processes approximately 800 invoices per month.Key Responsibilities:* Supervise, mentor, and support a team of four Accounts Payable Technicians* Review, approve, and monitor accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with organizational policies* Serve as the primary escalation point for complex invoice, payment, vendor, and processing issues* Provide guidance and training to AP staff on policies, procedures, and best practices* Monitor workload distribution and ensure timely processing of approximately 800 invoices per month* Review employee work for accuracy and adherence to established internal controls* Assist in resolving discrepancies related to invoices, purchase orders, receiving documentation, and vendor accounts* Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to address payment inquiries and resolve outstanding issues* Support month end and year end closing activities related to accounts payable* Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal controls, and organizational policies* Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, efficiencies, and workflows* Generate and review reports related to accounts payable activity and performance metrics* Maintain positive working relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders* Will have 4 direct reportsRequirements* Degree preferred* 5+ years of AP experience with 3+ in a supervisory role* Large system experience (ADP preferred)* Excel experience - should be good with Pivot Tables, Vlookups and formulasJob TypeContractCompensation38 - $45
