Technical WriterLocation: North Reading, MADuration: 12-month contractPayrate: $55 to $68 per hourResponsibilitiesWrite and maintain installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair procedures for new and existing productsReorganize, edit, and update manuals, notices, and technical bulletins to improve clarity, findability, and accuracyCollect raw technical information from multiple sources and compile it into clear and accurate overviewsIdentify and interview subject matter experts across hardware, software, and robotics to close knowledge gaps quicklyCoordinate cross-functional discussions to address urgent factory or customer issuesAdvocate for technical writing best practices while reviewing and peer editing documentsParticipate in required meetings, including some held outside of typical work hours to accommodate our international teamTravel expectations are less than 5% of work requirementsMust Have:Proven ability to write clear, concise text about complex technical topics (samples required)Proficiency with industry-standard technical writing software (MadCap Flare preferred)Experience photographing technical equipment and/or creating clear explanatory visualsConfidence documenting procedures on-the-fly in a prototype lab environmentExperience following a style guide and producing consistent, structured contentAble to manage multiple documentation requests and meet deadlines in a fast-changing prototype environmentDesire to work with diverse team members in our local factory and across the worldUnderstanding of Git-based version control software (nice to have)BA/BS degree in technical writing/communications/English or similar fields3-10 years' experience preferred.Candidates at the high end of the range will be expected to demonstrate expertise in leading large projects.
