Vice President-Officer, Finance The Vice President-Officer, Finance acts as a strategic financial business partner for the organization and oversees the day-to-day finance department operations. Reporting directly to this role are the leaders of Finance Shared Services, Tax, and Finance Center of Excellence. The role provides leadership, financial/business acumen, and oversight to drive planning, execution, and achievement of company objectives and goals. It involves fostering cross‑functional relationships, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and driving financial performance through effective team leadership and stakeholder engagement. Duties & Responsibilities Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, influencing strategic decisions and financial direction. Identify and execute low‑hanging operational improvements with high ROI. Communicate, engage and interact with the Board of Directors, Executive Committee Members and other business leaders. Create and establish yearly financial objectives that align with the company’s three‑year plan; assist the President with annual financial planning. Assist the President and New Business Development team with new business opportunities. Drive spend effectiveness strategies across the company. Identify, assess and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulations. Translate complex accounting information to various audiences to drive informed business and financial decision making. Apply continuous improvement mindset and embrace big‑box thinking to advance the company’s financial agenda. Act as a trusted business partner, creating an environment to challenge and support the leadership team with sound financial guidance and proactive strategic insights. Share and leverage best practices to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Lead strategic initiatives across multiple functions to improve financial accuracy, profitability and achieve strategic goals. Advise executive leadership on the financial implications of strategic decisions. Provide leadership and support to the Finance Center of Excellence leader to ensure accurate monthly financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and financial planning and analysis. Analyze financial performance and make recommendations to optimize financial outcomes and cost efficiencies. Provide leadership and support to the Finance Shared Service leader and team to ensure accurate and timely execution of financial processes. Manage financial risks and ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards. Develop and maintain strong relationships with external auditors. Provide leadership and support to the Tax leader to ensure complete and accurate tax reporting and compliance. Collaborate with tax subject matter experts, external advisors, and business leaders on tax issues. Lead a high‑performing finance and accounting team, providing mentorship, guidance and professional development. Delegate tasks and ensure efficient operations within the finance department. Foster a culture of financial discipline, accountability and continuous improvement. Manage financial risks by identifying and assessing risks, developing mitigation strategies and implementing controls. Develop and implement robust internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and minimize risk exposures. Experience & Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Master's Degree (MBA) or equivalent experience—Preferred Experience Progressive Corporate Finance experience across disciplines such as Accounting, Reporting, Taxation, Treasury, Consolidation, Foreign Currency, and Capital Management. Broad experience in navigating system and departmental inter‑dependencies, information flow, application support, and troubleshooting. Experience partnering and collaborating with Senior Management. Experience in change management and transformation. Licenses & Certifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Languages French‑Canadian—Preferred Spanish—Preferred Software/Technical Skills SAP Financial Modules or similar ERP system Other Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Strong financial analytical skills and overall business acumen with a proven record of developing and implementing financial strategies that drive performance. Effective communicator, capable of conveying complex issues simply and preparing effective presentations for Senior Executives. Demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and build relationships across all levels of the organization. Strong leadership and management skills, experience leading cross‑functional teams, holding self and others accountable to meet deadlines and commitments. Critical skills in partnership development, modeling behaviors, and developing team capabilities, including feedback mechanisms to support learning and coaching. Proven experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and data‑driven financial analysis to support strategic decision making. Strategic thinking skills with attention to detail and the ability to excel in a changing business environment. Extensive technical expertise in IFRS, tax regulations and regulatory compliance, with a proven track record of maintaining accounting integrity. Positive attitude and dependable team player recognizing the value of diverse perspectives and cultures. Exceptional leader, capable of managing through complexity, identifying solutions and delivering results, and challenging the status quo. Additional Details for This Role Hybrid work environment: employees may work remotely up to two days per week, subject to business needs. Targeted base salary range: $310,000 – $330,000 per year. Eligible for a 65% bonus at 100% of target, with the opportunity to exceed 100% depending on company performance. Eligible for a monthly auto allowance for vehicle maintenance, independent of travel reimbursement policies.
