Full-Time Night Nurse Supervisor/Clinical Leader

This is a contract position that must run through the holiday season, approximately 22-26 weeks.

Full-Time Night Shift

The Nurse Supervisor/Clinical Leader is responsible for coordinating clinical activities throughout the acute care setting during evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. This role provides clinical leadership, assists nursing staff in delivering care, and ensures the effective integration of services for patients and families. The Clinical Leader will collaborate with various nursing teams to monitor staffing levels based on patient acuities while managing emergency clinical or administrative situations.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that supports professional development of nursing staff.
• Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of healthcare delivery for assigned shifts.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to nursing staff.
• Ensure accountability for professional practice among staff during shifts.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and staff to effectively problem-solve and innovate.
• Maintain effective communication and collegial relationships across the organization.
• Assess and address staffing levels based on patient care needs and acuities.
• Facilitate nursing competency assessments and staff development needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure
• 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience
• 1 year of Critical Care experience
• 1 year supervisory/clinical lead experience beyond a charge nurse role
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA), NIHSS; CPI Certification within 90 days of hire
• Experience in bed-flow management, conflict resolution, and regulatory readiness
• Strong communication skills and ability to work positively with healthcare team members
