Job Description

Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, supporting elementary students in a welcoming school environment not far from Johnstown, CO. This onsite, full-time position runs from August 13, 2026, through May 20, 2027 (dates subject to change), offering the chance to truly make a difference over the course of a full school year.

The ideal candidate will bring dedication and adaptability, as the specific classroom setting and caseload will be determined based on the school’s needs. Comfort with various special education settings—whether resource, self-contained, or otherwise—is highly valued.

Desired Qualifications:

Valid Special Education Educator Certificate
Experience working with elementary-level students
Flexibility to manage a variety of SPED environments (resource, self-contained, etc.)
Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
Strong communication and organizational abilities
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom culture

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
Deliver instruction across a range of ability levels, monitoring student progress and adjusting teaching strategies as necessary
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive student support
Document and communicate progress with parents, guardians, and district staff
Employ creative problem-solving to adapt materials and instruction in real time
