Deputy Director, Safety and Occupational Health

This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of Safety and Code Compliance (OSCC), Safety Division. Serves as the Deputy Director of the Safety, Occupational Health and Accessibility Division and is responsible for the total range of the division's programs, including planning, organizing, directing, controlling and managing both the programs as well as the resources assigned to the Division. Acts on behalf of the Safety Director in the Safety Director's absence. You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-14 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower (GS-13) grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is having experience that demonstrates all of the following: Establishing safety and occupational health program goals and objectives to ensure safe and healthy working environment; Developing or implementing programs to reduce the frequency, severity, and cost of accidents and occupational illnesses; Serving in a supervisory capacity with responsibility for planning and assigning work to subordinate employees, monitoring and evaluating their performance, and counseling or disciplining employees regarding performance, conduct, or failure to perform satisfactorily; Developing and recommending safety and occupational health policy to higher levels of management; Auditing processes, products, or systems or compliance with established safety and occupational programs/policies. #J-18808-Ljbffr US Architect of the Capitol
