Summary

The Senior Project Manager will help construct and lead a team, and serve as the key contact for clients on all work within their portfolio. They have extensive experience delivering complex commercial construction projects, including mission‑critical, hyperscale data center, industrial, and other technically challenging facilities. The role requires balancing technical, financial, operational, and client priorities while maintaining exceptional project execution in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments.

Essential Functions

Preconstruction / Estimating / Sales

• Maintain and enhance contractor relationships to build new business and be involved in new market development.
• Full review of the contract with the Project Manager before submitting it to the Senior Leadership Team for sign‑off.
• Attend pre‑construction meetings to understand complete scope while ensuring safety, quality, and production setup are met.
• Review scope of work and identify any potential risks or scope gaps from estimate to award.
• Maintain strong knowledge of projects and exceed set standards for the portfolio.
• Lead preconstruction planning efforts including procurement strategy, subcontractor evaluation, vendor selection, constructability reviews, and long‑lead material planning.

Production / Execution

• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, operations, field leadership, and project stakeholders to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Give advice and direction as needed to the Project Team.
• Project manpower needs to leverage resources, utilizing the information for additional and future projects.
• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex commercial and mission‑critical construction projects, ensuring coordination across preconstruction, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout.
• Develop and manage integrated project schedules while monitoring performance against key milestones and implementing recovery plans when necessary.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including design, engineering, procurement, operations, commissioning partners, general contractors, owners, equipment vendors, consultants, and utility providers.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks with a particular focus on critical‑path activities, schedule impacts, procurement challenges, and long‑lead equipment.
• Lead project reviews, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve future project delivery.
• Develop and maintain integrated master schedules encompassing design, procurement, construction, commissioning, turnover, and operational readiness while proactively managing schedule risks and recovery planning.

Financial Management

• Involved in strategic planning to ensure project profitability—communicating with the CFO and Executive Team about financial implications, needs, and managing cash flow for success.
• Review WIP and billing.
• Own project budgets, cost forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow management, contingency planning, change control, and project financial closeout throughout the project lifecycle.

Strategic Vision

• Participate in the development and execution of Berg’s strategic and business plan including achievement of key objectives.
• Establish and develop relationships with employees, executive leadership, clients, contractors, consultants, commissioning partners, equipment vendors, and external stakeholders.
• Support and continuously improve Berg’s high‑performance culture.
• Provide visionary leadership for new ideas and approaches and humbly welcome ideas to innovate and improve Berg from all levels of the organization.
• Drive executive‑level reporting, project governance, stakeholder communication, and strategic decision‑making throughout all phases of project execution.

Leadership

• Develop trust and maintain a collaborative and supportive leadership presence with the Project Management team.
• Participate in and support recruitment, hiring, onboarding efforts to develop an exceptional regional team.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of project management experience delivering large‑scale commercial construction, infrastructure, or mission‑critical projects.
• Demonstrated experience delivering mission‑critical facilities, hyperscale data centers, industrial developments, semiconductor facilities, energy infrastructure, healthcare, or similarly complex construction projects.
• Strong understanding of CSA (Civil, Structural & Architectural) and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) project delivery.
• Ability to read and comprehend complex construction documents such as blueprints; base knowledge of document editing software (BlueBeam, Adobe Acrobat, and Plan Grid).
• Estimating experience and software knowledge; Plexxis is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients and customers.
• Ability to read and understand financials.
• Presentation skills to represent information and updates in a group setting.
• Strong computer skills; proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook, Mac iPad.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical degree and minimum 8+ years of related experience in the construction field or an equivalent mix of education and field experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management.
• Detail‑oriented, deadline/goal‑driven.
• Ability to multi‑task and prioritize in a fast‑paced work environment.
• Experience managing integrated project schedules across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness.
• Experience managing relationships with owners, general contractors, consultants, commissioning agents, equipment vendors, and utility providers.
• Experience managing projects ranging from several million dollars to large‑scale commercial or mission‑critical construction programs.

Sedentary Work

Describes lifting no more than 10–15 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying. Walks and stands regularly while predominantly sitting. Meets other sedentary criteria.

Travel

Up to 75% primarily in the designated market. Requires regular day travel for site visits and client meetings.
