Formulation Scientist

Our client is a leading manufacturer of health and wellness products seeking a Formulation Scientist for their facility in Sarasota, FL. They offer a complete benefit package, salary range of $100k - $130K, target bonus, and relocation benefits. Job responsibilities include:

• Ensure products are scientifically sound, manufacturable, consistent, and efficient
• Troubleshoot blending, encapsulation, powder flow, fill-weight, yield, and consistency challenges
• Investigate root causes, recommend corrective actions, and work to minimize/elimiate recurring production problems
• Support pilot runs, confirmation batches, and manufacturing scale-up
• Identify opportunities to reduce rework, downtime, waste, and raw material costs while maintaining high quality standards
• Maintain clear technical documentation and database of issues, solutions, and lessons learned
• Develop and optimize enzyme-based, digestive health, and other dietary supplement formulations
• Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Scientific Affairs, and Operations to support cGMP-compliant improvements

The following qualifications must be met to be cosidered for the position:

• BA/BS - Chemistry, Food Science, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or related
• MS degree in a relevant discipline (see above) a big plus
• 5+ years formulation development experience in dietary supplements, vitamins, pharmaceuticals, or related manufacturing
• Hands-on experience with powders, capsules, blending, encapsulation, and manufacturing scale-up required
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and collaboration skills
• Comfortable working directly on the manufacturing floor 
• Contract manufacturing experience a big plus
• Skilled in Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or cost optimization preferred
