Systems Software AdministratorThe Springfield City School District, home to The John Legend Theatre, is seeking a Systems Software Administrator for the 2026-2027 school year. We are a nationally ranked Division I District serving approximately 7,500 Pre-K through grade 12 students, in a vibrant learning community of 17 state of the art buildings in west-central Ohio. We are Wildcats!As an Systems Software Administrator, you are required to:Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experienceSystem administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plusWorking knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, and MDM platforms to manage macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Windows devices or equivalentStrong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocolsExperience with scripting and automation toolsA proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plansStrong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocolsAs an Systems Software Administrator, you will:Be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualizationInstalls and upgrades computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processesTroubleshoots hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issuesProvides documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructurePerforms or delegates regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover proceduresBe responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performancePossess knowledge of FERPA, COPPA, CIPA and other various regulations surrounding staff and student data privacyMaintain the confidentiality of privileged informationPerform other duties as assignedWhat We Offer:As a contracted employee, this position is assigned to work 234 days per year and 8 hours per day. Salary details are available within the SASO/SAST Agreement. Starting salary is in accordance with the negotiated agreement, increases with experience and education. Contracted employees receive competitive benefits. All employees receive professional development. The SASO/SAST agreement and the Board of Education are currently working on a new professional agreement. While that is in the works, please refer to the current agreement as to pay and benefits that are in place for the 2025-26 school year.
