Procurement Buyer

Job ID: 525937 Preferred Materials - Concrete Division, part of CRH South Division, located in Tampa, Florida. Procurement Buyer Responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products, coordinating scheduling, purchasing equipment, materials, supplies, expediting services, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring optimum cost and timely delivery. Responsibilities Work closely with vendors to ensure on‑time deliveries, consistent quality, uninterrupted supply chain, and best pricing. Handle correspondence concerning under/over‑shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, or prices and report such changes to internal stakeholders promptly. Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve procurement‑related challenges. Implement procurement strategy to ensure continuity of supply and alternative sources. Understand and communicate market dynamics and price movements. Analyze spend for vendors and service providers to define portfolio strategy. Lead quality improvement program for vendors and service providers. Analyze inventory and payment terms financial impact. Deliver price‑saving projects as defined by the procurement manager. Lead supplier development program as assigned by procurement. Qualifications Post‑secondary education and/or work experience in a related field. 3 to 5 years of experience in procurement. Experience in a construction environment preferred. Sound knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Exceptional time‑management and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage competing organizational needs. Knowledge of strategic procurement practices, import regulations, competitive bidding, market conditions, and contract terms. Strong communication skills. Ability to distill strategy into a clear, concise narrative. Analytical skills to derive well‑supported conclusions. Demonstrated problem‑solving skills.
