For Assemblers $20-23 The Assembler plays a key role on a fast-paced assembly line, working proficiently at every station to build high-quality assemblies and sub-assemblies for heavy-duty vehicles and specialized equipment. This role involves assembling parts, wiring, hoses, hydraulics, and accessories while closely following work instructions and quality standards. You will identify and report process discrepancies that impact equipment performance or product quality, and you will work in a collaborative production environment where teamwork, safety, and craftsmanship are highly valued. Responsibilities Work proficiently at all stations on the assigned assembly line, maintaining job knowledge and skills across each station. Follow work orders, drawings, work instructions, parts lists, and other documentation to assemble components accurately and in sequence. Assemble various components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies for heavy-duty vehicles and specialized equipment. Install parts, wires, hoses, hydraulic lines, and accessories such as decals, mud flaps, cameras, and lights using safe and proper tools and techniques. Install electrical, HVAC, and mechanical components as required by the build specifications. Utilize special equipment including torque tools, DC tools, brake bleeders, AC chargers, cab testers, jib cranes, overhead cranes, and quality testing equipment. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete assembly tasks. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to ensure correct assembly and configuration. Stay in sequence on the assembly line and confirm that each step of the process has been successfully completed before moving the unit to the next station. Perform visual inspections and quality checks to identify defects and discrepancies in parts, assemblies, and processes. Trace issues to root cause and support corrective actions to improve equipment performance and product quality. Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other measurement devices. Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles as required for proper fit and alignment. Test equipment and assemblies using designated quality inspection and testing tools, including CMM and other quality testing equipment as needed. Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE and safe operation of tools, equipment, and lifting devices. Support cross-training efforts and collaborate with team members to maintain production flow and meet quality and delivery targets. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a modern manufacturing facility producing electric dump trucks, with a clean and climate-controlled environment. The standard shift runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering a four-day workweek. The work takes place in a production setting with typical manufacturing conditions, including noise, dust, moving equipment, and temperature fluctuations. The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive motion throughout the shift. Team members must be able to safely lift up to 35 pounds alone, with heavier items handled through team lifts or mechanical assistance such as overhead cranes and other lifting devices. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided, and visual and auditory acuity are important for safe operation of tools and equipment and effective communication on the floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Murfreesboro, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.32 - $24.52/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
