Class A Commercial Driver - Night Shift (M-Th 6pm-4am)

Job ID: 7146 Location: 101 N Wolf Rd, Hillside, Illinois, 60162 (CarMax) Position Overview As a Fleet Driver at CarMax, you’ll transport vehicles, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining vehicle condition. Responsibilities Safely load, secure, transport, and offload CarMax vehicles between stores, auctions, vendors, and logistics hubs. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of vehicles to support inventory flow and customer satisfaction. Operate equipment with a focus on safety, efficiency, and cleanliness; maintain a well-kept truck and trailer. Conduct thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections in compliance with DOT and CarMax standards. Maintain accurate and compliant DOT logs and documentation. Represent CarMax professionally when interacting with vendors, store associates, and the public. Follow all company and federal safety regulations to ensure compliance and minimize risk. Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) issued by the state. 2+ years of Class A CDL driving experience (Military heavy/medium tactical vehicle experience considered). Current CarMax associates may apply if they meet: A valid Class A CDL. 2+ years of CMV driving experience at CarMax (non‑Class A CMV experience acceptable). No preventable safety incidents in the past 2 years (validated by Safety & Compliance Team). Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years; must meet CarMax’s Driver Safety Evaluation criteria. Ability to meet DOT & FMCSA qualification requirements. Ability to lift heavy objects and operate winches during loading. Proficiency in operating a 10‑speed transmission and willingness to work outdoors in varied weather conditions. Hourly Rate $26.20 - $44.60 Benefits Paid sick, vacation, and holiday time (eligible details vary by full‑time status and years of service). Six paid scheduled holidays per year plus one floating holiday. Holiday Premium Pay if working on a scheduled holiday. Full‑time salaried associates receive paid time off for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, and floating holidays with manager approval.
