Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU

Shift: Nights (18:45–07:15) Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Assignment Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Licensure: Must hold a valid nursing license
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS (BLS), NIHSS
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years Neuro ICU experience
• EMR: Experience with Epic required
• Skills: Strong neuro critical care skills including EVD/LD care, ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery care, ventilator management, and central line management.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Neuro ICU setting.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing appropriate nursing interventions.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products as necessary.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Educate patients and families on health management and care plans.

Compliance / Notes

• Orientation: 24 hours (2 days or 2 nights)
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
• Candidates must complete all required lab testing within 48 hours after signing.
• Up to 7 days of RTO auto-approved (no holidays); all RTO must be pre-approved.
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
• Flu vaccine required; medical/religious exemptions allowed.
• Pre-start modules are required and non-billable.
