Commercial Carpenter

Hawkeye Construction, LLC is seeking an experienced and dependable Commercial Carpenter to join our growing team. We perform commercial construction and renovation work throughout Maryland and the surrounding region.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is dependable, works well with a team, and is comfortable performing a variety of commercial carpentry and general construction tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform commercial rough and finish carpentry.
• Metal and wood stud framing.
• Drywall installation and repairs.
• Install doors, frames, hardware, trim, and blocking.
• Install acoustical ceilings and related components.
• Perform demolition and renovation work.
• Install plywood, FRP, wall protection, and miscellaneous finishes.
• Perform layout, measuring, cutting, and installation from plans and field conditions.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and other construction equipment.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Work effectively with project managers, foremen, other employees, subcontractors, and clients.
• Perform other commercial construction tasks as required.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial carpentry or construction experience required.
• Ability to perform multiple types of carpentry and general construction work.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic construction layout.
• Experience using common hand and power tools.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a crew.
• Dependable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to consistently report to scheduled jobsites.
• Ability to safely lift and carry construction materials and perform physically demanding work.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for out-of-town projects.
• Ability to maintain a professional attitude while working in occupied commercial and public facilities.

Travel

Most work is performed within our normal service area; however, some out-of-town travel will be required depending on project needs.

Employees assigned to qualifying travel projects will receive an additional $5.00 per hour above their regular hourly rate for hours worked on those projects.

Position: Full-Time Commercial Carpenter

Location: Cockeysville, Maryland / Various Jobsites
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Travel: Some travel required; +$5.00/hour for qualifying travel projects
Compensation: $23-$27 Based on experience and skill level.
