Warehouse Associate- Selectors- Varying Day and Evening ShiftsPay Rate Starting at: $22.15/ hr training rate for perishable and grocery selectors. Upon completion of training, rate of pay for perishable and grocery selectors starts at $25.16. $22.65/ hr training rate of pay for freezer selectors. Upon completion of training, rate of pay for freezer selectors starts at $25.45.Summary: The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money. Tops Markets is accepting applications for current and future Selector openings. A Selector works individually selecting full case grocery/perishable/frozen items from pick slots. The selector fits these items on a pallet, plastic wraps the bundles, completed pallets, and stages for loading. A voice system is used to direct generalists to the locations where each case of product will be picked.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Description of Work Environment: Temperature of Grocery warehouses can range from 50° to 80° Fahrenheit, a Perishable warehouse can range from 28° to 60° Fahrenheit, and a Freezer warehouse can range from -20° to -10° Fahrenheit.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: A Generalist Trainee will be provided with instruction, training and safety information to be able to perform the following:Ensure accuracy of work and adherence to production and safety standards.Listen to the voice system to find individual items within warehouseRemove full case(s) of product from storage rack and place on palletManeuver pallet on an electric pallet jack until full or order is completeEnsure item pick accuracy and safety of product to prevent damageInform supervisor of any discrepancies in case quantity and/or product descriptionManually wrap the pallet by circling load with roll of plastic wrap until secureLoad bundles onto trucks with the pallet jackOperate heavy equipmentOther duties may be assignedMinimum Qualifications:Must be at least 18 years of ageAbility to work weekends -varying shifts availableConstant - standing, walking, driving, carrying, twisting, bending, seeing, hearing, and handling paperworkLifting of objects weighing from less than 20 lbs. to 90 lbs.Frequent - stooping, balancing, and hearingOccasional - pushing, sitting, feeling, reaching, climbing, pulling, gripping of items ranging from under 20 lbs. to over 60 lbs.Steel toed shoes are requiredEducation and Experience:Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functionsPossess basic computer skillsPossess strong communication skillsGED recommended but not required6-12 months of warehouse experience recommended but not requiredPhysical Requirements: Equipment Used: Ride on Pallet Jack Voice System for order selectionOur Company does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, affection or sexual orientation, disability, age, marital status, liability for military service, status as a veteran, gender identity or expression, genetic information, pregnancy, and any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws.
