We are an EEO/AA Employer. What You’ll Do The Medical Director supervises and provides clinical oversight to staff/contract practitioners, psychiatrists, and other medical professionals. The Medical Director will review and evaluate treatment procedures and outcomes of prescribers to ensure compliance with agency requirements. They will ensure the quality of care given to our behavioral health clients is clinically appropriate and evidence‑based. Essential Responsibilities Direct the day‑to‑day operations of the outpatient clinical programs. Ensure department productivity and monitor staff performance to meet standards. Provide overall direction and management of outpatient clinical staff, including selection, training, development, goal setting, evaluation, performance feedback, and fostering a positive work environment. Provide administrative and clinical supervision of Program Managers and indirect supervision of all departmental staff. Develop and implement policies and procedures for delivery of outpatient clinical programs in accordance with the Arizona Practice Model. Maintain quality assurance of department’s service delivery, including clinical care and documentation; monitor and maintain all client records per agency policies. Participate in utilization review functions; recommend changes to improve service delivery and implement new programming as directed. Monitor service reporting, establish evaluation guidelines, and ensure programmatic contract requirements are met. Provide community outreach, develop relationships with state, community behavioral health, and contracting organizations, and identify opportunities for new business development. Assist in grant preparation and budget processes. Assist the Director of Finance with cost/benefit analysis of new programs and services. Instruct and train volunteers, interns, contract staff, and regular staff in relevant disciplines as assigned. Negotiate contracts with providers of clinical, prevention, and training services. Participate in agency fundraising activities as requested. Work as part of the agency executive team to advance organizational mission and goals. Attend management and administrative meetings. What You’ll Provide Valid Arizona license to practice Medicine. Completion of Psychiatric Residency Training and DEA Registration. Minimum of five years of experience as a Psychiatrist, with experience in psychiatric emergency service, clinic, or mental health center. Eligibility to participate in Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health care programs. Eligibility to be credentialed by the ADHS and Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA). Excellent oral and written communication skills. Detail‑oriented and strong organizational skills. Strong internal and external customer service skills. Previous management experience with responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work, and managing performance of staff. Experience treating or managing care for a culturally diverse population preferred. Ability to remain calm in crisis situations, work independently and cooperatively, recognize personal limitations, and relate positively and with empathy to all persons regardless of age, race, creed, gender, or sexual orientation. Professional demeanor and positive working relationships with internal and external team members, stakeholders, and community and business partners. Valid Arizona driver’s license and liability insurance if driving on agency time or business; a clean 3‑year state driving record required at hire. Strong computer skills including Outlook, Microsoft Office, and experience with an Electronic Health Record system. What You’ll Experience Typical work environment: indoor medical office setting. Position requires candidate to be 21 years old or older at employment. A fingerprint clearance card is a requirement of employment. Employees must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times. Occasional travel to trainings and out‑of‑state locations may occur as needed. Possibility of working from home may be necessary.
