Job Summary:
A registered nurse (RN) specializing in Operating Room (OR) at a healthcare organization in Louisville, Kentucky. The position involves providing perioperative nursing care in a surgical environment, supporting various procedures including vascular, neuro/neurohybrid, thoracic, robotics, transplant, general, orthopedic, hand, spine, podiatry, gynecology, and carotid/endarectomies. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Louisville, Kentucky
• Shift Schedule:
  • 3 days per week, 0630-1900
  • 4 days per week, 0630-1700
  • 3 days per week, 1030-2300
  • Minimum hours per week: 36.0
• Required Qualifications:
  • Valid nursing license (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (RN and Tech)
  • Circulating experience in the Operating Room
  • Knowledge of Foley catheter management, chest tube management, and AED operation
  • Two years of recent operating room experience (for RN and OR Tech)
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) Cerner system
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification (Tech)
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Robotics experience with Davinci D5 (not required but preferred)
• Support within the Department:
  • Management team support
  • One RN and one Tech assigned to each case
• Technology/Equipment:
  • EMR: Cerner
  • IV Pumps: Plum ICU Medical
  • Med Dispensing: Omnicell
  • Unit-specific equipment includes Bovie, tourniquet, harmonic, OR bed, stretcher
• Float: Float rotation may be required; support relief for lunch breaks anywhere in the OR
• Orientation:
  • Full one-week or unit-specific orientation for new staff
• Additional Information:
  • Free, badge access parking lot
  • Scrub color: Ceil Blue
  • Must have circulating experience, Foley catheter, chest tube management, and AED experience
