Regional Director, Petsense Store Ops- West

Overview The West Region consists of stores in the following states: AL, AR, AZ, CA, IN, KS, KY, LA, MS, NE, NM, OK, OR, TN, TX, WA. This position is responsible for the management of the field organization for a Petsense Division through District Managers, resulting in the accomplishment of specific financial and operational goals. The role requires leading the stores and districts to achieve financial plans, surpass key metrics, drive strategic initiatives, and serve as an ambassador for the Petsense culture by living up to our purpose, mission, and values. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%) Supervise and manage Division, District Managers, up to 100 store locations. Develop subordinates through goal setting, performance reviews, succession planning, coaching, training, and mentoring. Lead implementation of strategic initiatives by creating, executing, and managing programs, business practices, policies, and procedures to support a customer‑centric culture and maximize sales, operations, and customer satisfaction. Maintain the appropriate mix between local “feel” and standardization across stores. Hold District Managers accountable to store standards across all metrics (customer service, in‑stocks, shrink, margin, labor staffing, store expenses, etc.). Provide input into real‑estate decisions for new locations, relocations, and lease compliance. Recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Implement policies and procedures that increase operational effectiveness and maximize long‑term store performance. Improve business processes through analysis and collaboration with Petsense and Tractor Supply teams. Make decisions on field supervisory team/organization and handle customer complaints and issues. Required Qualifications Experience: 7+ years of related retail experience in operations, merchandising, and personnel development. Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or a suitable combination of education and experience. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities Substantial experience in a multi‑unit retail environment. Demonstrated record of achieving financial performance objectives and overcoming operational challenges in a competitive, customer‑centric environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office products. Strong communication skills across all organizational levels. Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and time‑management skills. Ability to manipulate data to drive and expedite project analyses and completion. Working Conditions Hybrid / Flexible conditions. Extensive travel by car or plane required (75‑85%).
