Sr Electrical Engineer

Senior Electrical Engineer The Senior Electrical Engineer leads the electrical engineering design for the engineering department, guiding the team on complex project design and the creation and documentation of these electrical designs. They oversee high-level interfaces within the company and with customers to determine the strategic direction of designs, working with the engineering manager to aid in project planning and mentoring other engineers and designers. Responsibilities Lead electrical engineering design of electrical systems for the engineering department, developing designs from scratch and specifying equipment, manufacturing methods, and ensuring systems meet design requirements. Use AutoCAD Electrical and other CAD/3D software to design and develop drawings for manufacturing. Interface with the company and customers to determine strategic direction of designs. Aid in project planning and mentor other engineers and designers in strategic directions. Perform advanced electrical calculations for current and new designs. Develop instrumentation and electrical/control portions of P&ID drawings, providing feedback to optimize system performance. Program PLCs, HMIs, set up PID loop designs, and train team members. Use ERP systems, MS Office, Epicor to manage BOMs, research information, and manage project schedules. Facilitate teaching of methods for problem solving of electrical designs and equipment. Participate in engineering design meetings, improving design methods and processes. Lead advanced electrical design reviews for new and existing product designs. Maintain regular and consistent job attendance. Interface well with both internal and external customers. Apply advanced knowledge of the National Electric Code, IEEE standards, MSHA, and other applicable standards. Follow and comply with IE Core Values, IE Safety Program, Cardinal Safety Rules, maintain a safe and clean work area. Qualifications Advanced capability in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, technical drawings, schematics, and the ability to teach others. Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical to create design drawings. Advanced electrical calculations skills. Experience in programming PLCs, HMIs, and PID loop designs. Knowledge of ERP systems, MS Office, Epicor. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills. Other Essential Duties Maintain a punctual and consistent attendance record. Good communication with internal and external customers. Teach and grow members of the electrical team using NEC, IEEE, MSHA, and applicable standards. Follow IE Core Values and safety program.
