Benefits Customer Service Representative

Job Summary Benefits Specialist is responsible for administration of benefits for participating clients. Starting pay begins at $18.00 per hour. Responsibilities Managing client benefits, including eligibility, enrollments, terminations, reconciling monthly benefit invoices, contacting clients about their renewals, and maintaining employee and client records. Generating open enrollment notices. Answering questions from employees about their benefit deductions. Auditing terminated employees benefits for final deductions. Working closely with Payroll and Accounting on all benefit related issues. Researching and resolving questions from managers and employees regarding benefit deductions, eligibility and enrollments. Maintaining knowledge of all Benefits software. Completing and responding to Medical Support Orders. Maintaining knowledge of all PEO services to assist clients with general inquiries. Ensuring that the highest quality level of customer service is provided to clients and employees. Establishing and maintaining a positive working relationship with clients, co-workers and other departments. Assisting in special projects and other duties as assigned by management. Providing customer service to benefit recipients and clients. Handling sensitive information with professionalism. Assisting employees in resolving problems with benefit coverage. Qualifications Exceptional customer service required. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills – Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience handling employee benefits. Experience with invoice and/or benefit reconciliations preferred. Excellent time management skills. Ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills, and follow up effectively with all staffing levels and clients/customers. Ability to work independently, self‑starter, energetic. Detail oriented. Ability to adhere to tight deadlines. High school diploma required. Ability to handle highly confidential information.
