The Commercial Service Field Supervisor is expected to lead from the field and serve as the company's primary technical leader for commercial HVAC service operations. The successful candidate must be highly experienced in HVAC repair and installation and capable of troubleshooting complex field conditions while providing direction to technicians.

The Field Supervisor must also have a strong working understanding of plumbing and electrical systems to effectively coordinate MEP work, identify problems, communicate with customers and other trades, and determine when specialized support is required.

The successful candidate will be proactive, technically knowledgeable, organized, safety-focused, and customer-oriented, with the ability to make sound decisions in the field while keeping the Service Manager informed.

• Assist with ordering HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and general construction materials required for service and installation work.
• Review work scopes and upcoming schedules to anticipate material and equipment needs.
• Verify equipment, parts, quantities, specifications, model numbers, and lead times before orders are placed.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding pricing, availability, delivery schedules, and substitutions.
• Track material and equipment orders to ensure they arrive in time to support scheduled work.
• Identify material shortages, backorders, incorrect shipments, or damaged materials and coordinate timely resolution.
• Ensure technicians and field crews have the required materials and equipment before mobilizing to a jobsite.
• Communicate material cost changes, long lead-time items, and potential procurement issues to management.

Quality Control

• Inspect work in progress and completed MEP service work.
• Verify installations and repairs meet quality standards, applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and project specifications.
• Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective action is completed promptly.
• Assist with inspections, testing, commissioning, punch lists, and closeout.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and professional jobsite conditions are maintained.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial HVAC repair, troubleshooting, service, maintenance, and installation experience is required.
• Strong hands-on HVAC technical knowledge is a must.
• 10+ years of commercial HVAC, mechanical service, construction, or related field experience preferred.
• Previous experience as a Field Supervisor, Service Supervisor, HVAC Foreman, Lead Technician, Superintendent, or similar leadership role.
• Strong working knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, systems, and troubleshooting.
• Strong working knowledge of commercial plumbing and electrical systems.
• Ability to understand how mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems interact within a commercial building.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple jobs, crews, and priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with smartphones, tablets, email, scheduling software, and service management platforms.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between commercial jobsites.
