Electrical Engineer

As?an Associate Electrical Engineer in our New York City or Morristown, NJ locations you will be joining a team that provides a range of skills as part of our Cross Market Services Team. Our diverse range of skills include medium voltage to low voltage power distribution system design, power studies (short circuit, coordination and & arc flash), lighting design, fire and life safety systems for transportation, aviation, water/wastewater facilities, bridges/tunnels, buildings, mission critical environments and renewable energy infrastructure.

While working in this role you'll be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously including design, perform calculations, prepare contract drawings and specifications and prepare basis of design reports. Part of the role includes delegating work to entry level staff and overseeing drawings, specifications and calculations to ensure they meet applicable codes and project requirements. As an associate electrical engineer, you will also attend client meetings during which you will interface with contractors and vendors with minimal supervision.

Some of the experience you will need to draw on are:

• Design lighting systems including associated control systems

• Prepare load analysis for each stage of design

• Prepare detailed project electrical systems drawings

• Prepare basis of design reports and technical specifications for the project

• Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and with project architects across multiple locations

• Manage several different assignments simultaneously

• Work with a Senior Level Electrical Engineer for quality control and quality assurance of electrical engineering plans, specifications, and estimates

• Mentor entry level staff

• Responsible for all aspects of the electrical design for assigned projects including code compliance, scheduling, budgeting, product specification, etc.

• Assisting in development of design standards/checklists

• Assessing site conditions

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required

• Minimum 6 years of design experience is required.

• Registration as a Professional Engineer is required

• Experience with SKM and/or ETAP

• Experience with AutoCAD & Microstation

• Experience with BIM (Revit)

• Experience with LEED preferred, LEED AP preferred

• Experience with Medium Voltage is a plus.
