Join Our Team as a Shear Line Assitant/Rebar Shaker

Pay Rate: $20.00-$22.00/hr

Schedule Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm  (If OT is worked the schedule is 6am-4:30pm)

Shear Line Assistant / Rebar Shaker

Seeking a highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Position Summary:

Assist the shear line operator with preparing and handling reinforcing steel (rebar) for cutting.

Job Duties:

1. Separate or “shake out” rebar from bundles and help position bars on the shear line.
2. Count bars and help keep materials organized by size and job.
3. Assist with moving, sorting, stacking, and bundling rebar as directed.
4. Maintain a clean work area and keep walkways clear.
5. Follow the operator’s instructions, shop safety procedures, and required protective equipment rules.

Physical Demands and Qualifications:

1. Standing and walking for most of the shift.
2. Repetitive gripping, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and handling steel.
3. Working around machinery in a noisy fabrication shop.
4. Ability to follow directions, count accurately, work with a team, and maintain dependable attendance.
5. Use lifting assistance and material handling equipment as instructed. Operate equipment only after training and authorization.
6. Availability to work weekends and/or overtime.
7. Able to work in hot or cold environments.

Clothing:

1. Wear Steel-Toed Boots with metatarsal protection.
2. Blue jeans or work pants without holes or tears.
3. Shirt that covers shoulders and torso.
4. Clothing must fit securely. No loose or dangling clothing or jewlery that could become caught in machinery.
