Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Chattanooga, Tennessee.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: ASAP\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Aug 17, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring TN or compact RN license and prior specialty experience.Details\n \n Hospital-based Med/Surg unit with 30 beds\n Patient ratio of 1:6\n Unit staffed with 2-3 techs per shift, clinical coordinator, charge nurse, manager, and director\n Uses wound vac, heparin gtt, suction, IV pumps, glucometers, bladder scanner, feeding pump, and telemetry equipment\n Charting completed using Meditech EMR\n Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM\n 13-week assignment\n Every other weekend and holiday rotation required\n Floating required between 2 North and 2 West units\n No block scheduling guaranteed\n Requirements\n \n Active TN or compact RN license required\n Current BLS certification required\n Minimum 2 years of RN experience required\n 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required\n Skilled in IV starts, NGT placement, wound care, and cardiac rhythm interpretation\n Experience performing lab draws and IV starts\n US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)\n One professional reference required\n No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg unit including wound care, IV therapy, and cardiac monitoring\n Deliver a positive patient experience, address patient and family needs, perform service recovery as needed, and escalate issues through the proper chain of command\n Team environment with visible leadership, self-scheduling options, and a strong learning atmosphere\n Unit recognizes staff through I-Heal cards, employee points, colleague-to-colleague recognition, Daisy Award, and Bee Award\n Required to wear navy scrubs; no fleece or sweatshirts permitted\n Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-739326.
