Trimming Supervisor

Job Purpose The Trimming Supervisor is the right hand of the production manager, providing assistance in leading the production team. The supervisor offers training in proper trimming techniques, maintains production rates, and upholds integrity and honesty within the department. They serve as a second set of eyes for product quality, production metrics, and staff operations. Responsibilities Training of production staff in trimming techniques and SOPs Provide proper training to new staff Document new staff progression throughout the training process Adhere to all SOPs to set good examples for all staff Conduct quality checks on all production, especially for new staff Reporting any quality issues with the product to the Production Manager Setting an example for proper product creation and production rates Assist with managing proper labeling, organization, and storage of trimmed material Assist with inventory reporting Receive work orders from the PM and organize tasks for staff to meet goals Create production plans to accomplish the goals of the PM Communicate workflows to staff on days when the supervisor is absent Reporting Meet weekly with the PM to report all relevant information Suggest improvements to SOPs for the production department Recommend write‑ups for staff not adhering to SOPs Report low supplies Special Projects Assist the PM with various tasks that are needed Participate in hiring interviews and working interview days Maintain all duties and responsibilities of a processor with little to no supervision Required Skills Ability to trim all strains and create products with the given recipe, independent of supervision Set the pace for production rates Possess leadership qualities to guide the production crew to full potential Ability to effectively train new hires on proper procedures Operate with honesty and integrity Strong communication skills Ability to spot quality issues Desire to improve and learn new skills to assist the Production Manager Working Conditions Schedules for each team member will be honored and may be adjusted to better support harvest schedules Production is conducted Monday through Friday, 10 am – 6:45 pm Some holidays will be observed with minimal staff input to satisfy opening and closing responsibilities Physical Requirements Some days may require longer hours and more physically demanding tasks. Candidates must be fit enough to perform all responsibilities.
