Position Summary The Loan Officer / Member Service Officer (MSO) is a relationship-driven lending professional who works closely with members in person, by phone, and online to understand their financial needs and guide them through lending and account decisions. This is a fully in-person, on-site role compensated at $25.95 per hour , and includes a highly competitive and generous benefits package that reflects Good Neighbors Credit Union’s commitment to its employees. Key Responsibilities Conduct lending interviews and underwrite consumer loan applications in alignment with Good Neighbors’ lending philosophy and ethical standards Build strong, trust-based relationships with members through meaningful conversations Open accounts and identify opportunities to recommend appropriate products and services Manage multiple member relationships simultaneously, from quick interactions to hour-long consultations Take full ownership of lending cases from intake through completion Clearly explain loan terms, rates, conditions, and expectations Maintain accurate documentation and ensure regulatory and policy compliance Collaborate with team members and cross‑functional departments as needed Participate in team culture, outreach, and community engagement efforts Educate members and refer them to additional credit union resources when appropriate Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required 3+ years of experience in lending, credit unions, financial services, nonprofit work, or high‑level member service Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail Empathy, sound judgment, and confidence navigating complex or sensitive situations Tech‑savvy and comfortable managing underwriting, documentation, and follow‑ups Comfortable communicating by phone and in person Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and remain agile in a fast‑paced environment Competitive hourly wage of $25.95 per hour Company‑matched 401(k) up to 6% Very generous health insurance coverage Fully paid vision and dental insurance Short- and long‑term disability coverage at 60% 16 hours of paid volunteer time Strong internal promotion culture and long‑term growth opportunities Stable, mission‑driven organization with a supportive team environment The advertised pay rate represents what we believe at the time of this job posting that Good Neighbors Credit Union would be willing to pay for this position.
