Outpatient Pharmacist IIAll KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHIs vision of providing the regions best clinical care and patient service through an environment that fosters respect for others and pride in performance.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and dispense medications per orders/prescriptions written by licensed prescribers according to established policies and procedures while complying with Federal, State and Local regulations.Review medication prescriptions and clarify all potential prescription issues with prescriber.Monitor patient drug therapy regimens for allergies, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, appropriateness of drug and dose, therapeutic duplications and potential adverse reactions.Supervise and direct activities of ancillary personnel: pharmacy technicians, clerks, couriers, cashiers.Provide drug information to patients and their families.Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, visitor and employee information. Comply with the HIPAA Privacy Rule standards.Communicate with third party payers to determine eligibility and obtain prior authorization.Assist with purchasing activities and maintenance of adequate inventory level.Maintain the prescription area in an orderly and sanitary manner.
