X-ray/Rad Tech
The X-ray/Rad Tech operates advanced imaging equipment under the supervision of radiologists and the Director of Radiology to perform diagnostic imaging procedures. The role involves providing high-quality images for accurate diagnosis and patient care.
Responsibilities
- Operate Computerized Tomographic scanners and X-ray equipment to capture detailed images of various body parts.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including radiation safety standards.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explaining processes and positioning them correctly.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Document imaging procedures accurately within the medical record systems.
- Cross-train in additional imaging modalities to support departmental flexibility.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an AMA-accredited school of radiologic technology.
- Registered in radiography, with additional certification in computed tomography (highly preferred).
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and practitioners.
- Familiarity with computer applications, including Meditech Health Information System.
- Willingness to work with neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Valid state license and BLS certification required.
