Apprentice Mechanic - $30/Hour

Looking to grow your skills and build a long-term career as a mechanic? Join our team as an Apprentice Mechanic and work alongside experienced technicians maintaining and repairing a fleet of trucks and large trailers. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and trailer repairs while earning $30/hour .

What You'll Do

• Assist with inspections, maintenance, and repairs on trucks and trailers

• Perform routine services such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and filter replacements

• Learn troubleshooting and repair techniques for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

• Support brake, suspension, steering, and drivetrain repairs

• Organize tools, parts, and materials to keep work moving efficiently

• Complete maintenance records and inspection documentation

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of mechanical experience working on vehicles or equipment

• Basic knowledge of diesel engines and maintenance practices

• Familiarity with hand and power tools

• Understanding of hydraulic and vehicle electrical systems

• Ability to read repair manuals, diagrams, or blueprints

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn

Preferred Experience

• Trailer repair experience

• DOT inspections and compliance knowledge

• Basic diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
