Non Dot Yard Jockey/Sitdown ForkliftHybrid role doing both positions2nd shift: Tuesday-Friday 5PM-3:30AM$23.50 plus $1.50 shift differentialDescription of the Position:Drives gasoline or diesel-powered tractors to transport and spot trailers at appropriate loading docks and/or staging areas.Operates gasoline-, liquefied gas-, or electric-powered industrial equipment equipped with lifting devices, such as sit-down, stand-up, clamp or other elevating equipment to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in distribution center or storage yard.Responsibilities:• Performs trailer movements by attaching drive unit to trailers to move to and from dock doors for loading and unloading.• Checks trailer lights and tires and inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submit reports indicating truck condition.• Monitors truck refrigeration units and may check temperature.• Maintains an orderly lot and paperwork for trailer locations by performing daily yard checks.• Checks empty trailers to ensure cleanliness.• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.• Write routine reports and correspondence.• Adhere to all safety guidelines and rules.• Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed.• Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using powered industrial equipment.Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.On a daily basis, inspect assigned equipment.Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards.Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas.Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring the exact number and types of products are loaded and shipped.Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers, or containers.Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.Assist in physical inventories.Ensure proper stock rotation.Follow customer requirements and/or other instructions to ensure accuracy: load count, stability of product, and that all products are loaded and unloaded safely.Requirements:• High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of experience and education.• 1-year verifiable experience.• Must be able to operate a yard truck safely. Forklift experience necessary. Class A CDL license may be required.
